Dublin's Science Gallery to Host TEDx Event Featuring Aoife McLysaght

WEB TEDxDublin to Explore Human Evolutionary Journey

The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin will play host to WEB TEDxDublin on September 8th, 2012. The event, hosted by Science Gallery Dublin, will feature a lineup of speakers, including evolutionary geneticist Aoife McLysaght. McLysaght, a professor at Trinity College Dublin, will explore the topic of human evolution.

The theme of WEB TEDxDublin is "Out of Africa," and the event will examine the scientific evidence for the modern human migration out of Africa. McLysaght will discuss the genetic markers that have been used to trace human evolution and the challenges of interpreting these markers. She will also discuss the ethical and social implications of evolutionary research.
