Death of the Rector of the Catholic University
Franco Anelli, 61, Lawyer and Jurist
The rector of the Catholic University of Milan, Franco Anelli, died at his home in Milan just weeks before the scheduled end of his term. The university announced his death in a statement.
Anelli, a 61-year-old lawyer and jurist, had served as rector of the Catholic University of Milan since 2018. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Italian Catholic University Foundation.
Anelli was known for his work in the fields of civil law and administrative law. He was also a member of the Italian Society for the Study of Administrative Law and the Italian Association of Constitutionalists.
Anelli's death has been met with shock and sadness by the Catholic University community. The university's president, Prof. Franco Anelli, said in a statement that "Franco Anelli was a great rector and a dear friend. His death is a great loss for the Catholic University and for the entire academic community."
